In collaboration with the Learning and Engagement team here at MoMA, the Ambasz team participated in a series of professional development workshops for K-12 teachers that were dedicated to envisioning the future through the lens of climate justice, care for future generations, and action. Attendees explored the works of artists in the collection, such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Otobong Nkanga, and others, through an ecological lens and learned how artists can be a voice for change. Additionally, participants reflected on their climate legacy and learned how to navigate complex climate emotions with educators from Dear Tomorrow, and considered ways to start their students envisioning the future through artmaker, design and writing while evaluating their own knowledge and understanding. In particular, the Ambasz Institute presented a lecture and led a discussion on our gallery The City May Now Scatter and led a workshop on visionary ecological city planning.
