- Background:
- Artists Space is a non-profit alternative exhibition venue and center for discussion on contemporary art. It was founded in 1972 as a pilot project for the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA), to provide a setting in which visual artists not affiliated with commercial galleries could show their work. Bourgeois was a Board member from 1997 to 2010.
- Curatorial Remarks:
- Bourgeois's use of music paper as a support for drawings goes back to the early 1940s. Judith Solodkin, of SOLO Impression, used lithography to create archival music paper of a particular size for this edition.
