- Matrices:
This composition involved 2 matrices in 2 different techniques.
Matrix 1, in soft ground etching: music staves printed on chine collé paper.
Matrix 2, in drypoint: text. - Background:
- Bourgeois created prints as holiday gifts for a circle of friends. This drypoint was the holiday gift in 2007.
- Other Remarks:
- According to Jerry Gorovoy, the artist's assistant, Bourgeois found it very reassuring to declare her affection for her loved ones, and to receive their love in return. In addition to the prints and drawings that demonstrate this, the artist wrote similar phrases on surfaces throughout her home. See Related Works in Other Mediums below for images from the artist's home.
