One composition, Untitled (Orbits and Gravity #1), has four panels, and another, Untitled (Orbits and Gravity #1), has two panels. The compositions often incorporate the same plates but in different configurations. In addition to the composition documented here, the six others in this group are seen in Related Works in the Catalogue.
This is one of the two compositions with the same title, designated B for cataloguing purposes. The plate in this composition is also found in Untitled (Orbits and Gravity #1) (third panel) and Untitled (Orbits and Gravity #6) (left plate, in center of sheet), as well as in "The Sky was Spinning" (one of two superimposed plates). All can be seen in Related Works in the Catalogue along with the other “Orbits and Gravity” compositions. - Curatorial Remarks:
- The color of the hand additions, plate size, and paper type could not be documented because this work is not in MoMA's Collection and could not be examined in person.
