How well do you know your MoMA? Above are images of works from the MoMA collection that are currently on view throughout the Museum. If you think you can identify the artist and title of each work, please submit your answers by leaving a comment on this post. We’ll provide the answers—along with some information about each work—next Friday, along with the next Do You Know Your MoMA? challenge.
ANSWERS TO LAST WEEK’S CHALLENGE:
Lots of good efforts this week, and we have another winner! Congratulations to Alexander Gilmour, who correctly identified the titles and artists of all six works—we’ll even let him slide on identifying the fifth clue as Equivalent VII instead of Equivalent V. Definitely close enough. Honorable mentions go to insung and Laurent Sauerwein, who both correctly identified all but the second artist, Richard Serra. Looks like a few of you also got tripped up on the first clue, Bruce Nauman’s Perfect Door/Perfect Odor/Perfect Rodo, thinking it was a Dan Flavin work. Let’s see how you do this week!
1. Bruce Nauman. Perfect Door/Perfect Odor/Perfect Rodo. 1972
2. Richard Serra. To Lift. 1967
3. Sol LeWitt. Serial Project, I (ABCD). 1966
4. Christo (Christo Javacheff). Package on Wheelbarrow.1963
5. Carl Andre. Equivalent V. 1966–69
6. Robert Morris. Rope Piece. 1964
