The music video for the song “Run” by the British band New Order marks the first of Frank’s many projects with the film editor Laura Israel (seen nearby in the photograph Laura). The video combines passages of the band performing in Los Angeles with footage shot in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, of a young girl and the actor David Warrilow, with whom Frank had previously collaborated on the film Keep Busy. Israel later recalled what Frank stated of his process: “Once we make a choice, it’s fate. First thought, best thought. We don’t go back. We only move forward.”
