Take a moment to look at these photographs and notice what they have in common. They were taken by people portraying their everyday lives. The invention of the personal camera made it so that anybody could take photographs to express themselves or to remember a moment in time.

Each photograph has “me” written on it, possibly added when the photo was placed inside of an album or mailed to family or friends. Imagine what is happening in a few of the photographs by finishing the sentence “This is me . . .” Look for clues like where people are, what they’re doing and wearing, and what their poses and expressions are. Fill in the rest with your imagination.
