This kind of audio equipment led the fashion for high-tech styling of domestic products from the 1960s to 1980s. Jensen's minimalist idiom defined the identity of Bang & Olufsen appliances, presenting up-to-date technology in a form that was pleasurable to see and touch, and easy to use. The audio components have an emphatic horizontal, shallow profile, with minimally protruding controls placed on the upper surface. The turntable has a distinctive tone arm that moves tangentially, rather than diagonally, over the plane of the record.
