Four More Years documents the 1972 Republican National Convention in Miami Beach, Florida, which renominated Richard Nixon for a second presidential term. Titled after Nixon’s campaign slogan, this compilation of informal, spontaneous footage captured protesters, supporters, and the roiling atmosphere of the convention. The video was broadcast around the country, reaching a surprisingly wide audience—and providing a behind-the-scenes look at a highly staged political event. Four More Years was recorded months after the break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate office building, in Washington, D.C.—an event that would lead to Nixon’s impeachment in 1974 and change American politics forever.
