Join the MoMA Teens Film Club for a free screening of I Saw the TV Glow with the film’s writer and director, Jane Schoenbrun.
The film follows Owen, who is just trying to make it through teenage life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show that provides a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen’s view of reality begins to crack.
This screening will be followed by a conversation and audience Q&A with Jane Schoenbrun, who will introduce us to the ins and outs of directing a feature-length film and their experience working in the film industry as a producer, screenwriter, and director on films such as We’re All Going to the World’s Fair, A Self-Induced Hallucination, and collective : unconscious.
After the screening and conversation, there will be a mixer with complimentary food, activities, and music, from 7:45 to 9:00 p.m.
