In this exquisitely modulated family drama, set on a wind-lashed Montana prairie, an estranged brother and sister confront a long-denied secret while visiting their dying father. Against the magisterial backdrop of Big Sky country—captured on 35mm by Giles Nuttgens, who excels in this sort of John Ford landscape, as evidenced by his work on Hell or High Water - Scott McGehee and David Siegel (Suture, What Maisie Knew) weave a heartfelt story of simmering tension and subtlety, abetted by the thoughtful restraint of an ensemble including Haley Lu Richardson, Owen Teague, Gilbert Owuor, Kimberly Guerrero, and Eugene Brave Rock.
