Join us for a member-only outdoor screening of Big Night. Co-directed by Stanley Tucci, who stars alongside Tony Shalhoub, this 1996 film—a selection of that year’s New Directors/New Films festival—tells the story of the Paradise Restaurant on the Jersey Shore, where Calabrian immigrant brothers Primo (Shalhoub) and Secondo (Tucci) serve authentic Italian food to their dwindling patronage. Struggling to keep the restaurant open, the brothers accept an offer to host an epic feast for Louis Prima with hopes that the singer's presence will reinvigorate the business. The electric ensemble cast (including Minnie Driver, Isabella Rossellini, and Allison Janney) enlivens a charming, raucous story of family, community, and the American dream.
Doors open at 8:00 p.m. and the screening will begin at 8:30 p.m. Please enter through the Ronald S. and Jo Carole Lauder Building entrance at 11 West 53 Street. Advance registration is required and capacity is limited; reservation admits two and is nontransferable.
