Join us for an evening of screenings and conversation with Nialla LeBouef, writer and self-professed nerd. Born and raised in Washington, DC, her unwavering passion for cinema started in early childhood, thanks to her actor father and accountant mother. This cinephile upbringing eventually led her to the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she minored in cinema studies and earned a BFA in film and television. Her first pilot, Charity Hospital, was selected into the second round of the 2017 Sundance Episodic Lab, attracted the attention of Sofia Coppola, and led to her first staffing job. She is currently a staff member on the CBS show Evil.
For this installment of the MoMA Teens Film Club, we will explore the art of screenwriting, breaking into a writers room, horror films, and more. A conversation with Nialla will be followed by a screening of the 1996 cult classic The Craft (directed by Andrew Fleming). A reception will follow.
MoMA Teens Film Club is a series of screenings of work by young and emerging filmmakers and artists with deep connections to New York City. This program is for folks ages 13–22.
