Throughout this solo performance, Jones constructs, inhabits, and collapses an assembly of props, costumes, and environmental set pieces, creating an unstable theater in the VW Dome.
Niall Jones is a performance and installation artist based in New York City. Jones works with/in a variety of media and materials as a means to sustain an ongoing fascination with seriality, legibility, and impermanence. Since 2006, Jones has presented work in NYC at venues such as Dance Theater Workshop, New York Live Arts, The Invisible Dog Art Center, Gibney Dance Center, Roulette, Movement Research, Danspace Project, Abrons Art Center, Dixon Place, New Museum, The Kitchen, and the Chocolate Factory. Jones also works as Assistant Director and Creative Producer in the School of Dance at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia.
VW Sunday Sessions is organized by Taja Cheek, Assistant Curator, and Alex Sloane, Assistant Curator, MoMA PS1 and is produced by Alexandra Rosenberg, Producer, with Chris Masullo, Production Coordinator, MoMA PS1.
