Join us for a special edition of Writing Club, a collaboration between Accent Accent and MoMA. This series consists of two sessions: once in person at MoMA and once online via Zoom.
kathy wu facilitates a Writing Club with a focus on the exhibition Jakob Kudsk Steensen: Wetland. Inspired by Steensen’s exhibition, we will experiment with poetry that engages somatic practice and geologic time as a means to think through cartographies, environments, and technological imaginations. This session takes place in person at MoMA.
kathy wu is an artist, poet, designer, and educator working across language, computation, books, and textile to pull at fraught histories of ecology, technology, and industry. Their debut book, SHE WILL LAST AS LONG AS STONES, was the 2024 Wendy’s Subway Passage Prize winner. Their writing has been anthologized by Fonograf Editions and Nightboat Books, and selected by Provincetown Fine Arts Work Center and Bread Loaf Writers Conference. They are currently an artist fellow at the Center for Book Arts and a lecturer at the Rhode Island School of Design’s Graphic Design department.
Accent Accent Inc. was founded by Na Zhong, Jiaoyang Li, and Hongru Pan. Initially a writing community for diaspora writers working in English, it has blossomed into an academy offering creative writing classes and consultations; a bookstore carrying multilingual literary and art books; a bilingual publishing house discovering original, imaginative, and authentic voices; and an art gallery with a focus on multidisciplinary art. All projects are tied together by one mission: to connect and empower marginalized and diasporic creatives, to build a space for stereotype-defying, boundary-pushing works.

Writing Club, an ongoing program at MoMA, is part of the Museum’s Artful Practices for Well-Being initiative, which offers ideas for connectedness and healing through art.

Seating options include gallery stools, chairs with backs, and gallery benches. Wheelchairs and rollators are available by request at all Museum entrances, on a first-come, first-served basis.
Guide dogs and other trained service animals are always welcome.
All-gender restrooms are located on Floor 1.
