Winner of the first-ever Caméra d’Or prize for best first feature film at the Cannes Film Festival, Robert M. Young’s remarkable Alambrista! is a realistic portrait of a Mexican man who sneaks across the border to work on US farms to support his family back home, only to find himself exploited and hampered by harrowing working conditions, social prejudice, and political persecution. In Children of the Fields, Young documents the life of an immigrant family during harvesting season and the children who work picking crops.

This film accompanies Immigrant Nation: People in Transit.
