Join Souls in Focus for an off-site photo walk at Weeksville Heritage Center. Led by Weeksville staff, tour the grounds of this historic landmark to learn about its significance in the Brooklyn community. Connect with others and use photography to explore your surroundings.
Participants will meet at Weeksville Heritage Center at 11:30 a.m. The program will begin with a guided tour of the grounds and historic houses. Participants are encouraged to bring their own cameras. Participants will receive a printed image of their own portraits taken by Souls in Focus.
This program is recommended for adults. Space is limited and RSVP is required.
Weeksville Heritage Center is a historic site and cultural center in central Brooklyn that uses education, arts, and a social-justice lens to preserve, document, and inspire engagement with the history of Weeksville—one of the largest free Black communities in pre–Civil War America—and the Historic Hunterfly Road Houses.
Souls in Focus is a New York City–based, community-driven visual artist collective and creative agency. Since its inception in 2018, the collective has built a strong community of thinkers, creators, educators, and community organizers. The values of Souls in Focus—to inspire, educate, and connect—are deeply rooted in watering communities through photography, creative collaboration, and sustaining meaningful networks across the city and beyond.
