Join us to celebrate the release of Duchamp on Tape: The Janis Family Interviews, a wide-ranging and previously unpublished series of conversations between Marcel Duchamp and his close friends, the art collectors and gallerists Harriet and Sidney Janis and their son Carroll. The event will feature a conversation with Ann Temkin, MoMA’s Marie-Josée and Henry Kravis Chief Curator of Painting and Sculpture, and Carroll Janis, art historian and former director of the Sidney Janis Gallery in New York. A book signing will follow.
The book will accompany the opening of Marcel Duchamp, the first major retrospective of the artist’s work in over 50 years.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the conversation will begin at 6:00 p.m. Please enter through the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building at 4 W 54th Street.
