MoMA Teens Open Art Space presents monthly teen film screenings on Thursday evenings! Fuel up with snacks before the screening, strike a pose at the photobooth, then stay after the film for food and activities.
Back in 1991, Jennie Livingston’s groundbreaking documentary Paris Is Burning shed light on underground New York City drag balls where LGBTQ+ people vogued to the beat. Released a quarter century later, Sara Jordenö’s Kiki (2016) celebrates how LGBTQ+ performers, poets, activists, and dance aficionados carry on voguing in the City’s clubs, but now the party is out in the open and the attendees are more emboldened in their self-expression.
Admission is free, but registration is required.
