MoMA Teens Open Art Space is pleased to announce monthly film screenings for teens on Thursday evenings! For our first Open Art Space Films gathering, we’ll watch Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette (2006). Pre-screening snacks, a photo booth, and post-screening activities will be available.
Based on the bestselling 2001 biography Marie Antoinette: The Journey, Coppola’s adaptation—filmed with unprecedented access to the palace of Versailles—puts a modern twist on a timeless story of royal excess. Kirsten Dunst anchors the story as the titular final queen of France, a teenager forced by her Austrian dynastic family into an underwhelming marriage with the feckless King Louis XVI, played by Jason Schwartzman.
Registration is required.
