Join us for a special edition of Writing Club in conjunction with the exhibition Wifredo Lam: When I Don’t Sleep, I Dream. The same session will be offered twice, once in MoMA’s galleries and once online via Zoom.
MoMA staff will facilitate this Writing Club, focusing on Wifredo Lam works on view in the exhibition. Inspired by Lam’s world-building approach to his multimedia practice, collaborations with writers, and commitment to Black diasporic cultures, we’ll investigate our own relationships to myth, land, and identity. Using key paintings and works on paper by the artist as points of departure, participants will write narratives in response to guided prompts about how different landscapes and social contexts affect their body and being. This session will take place online via Zoom.
