Join us for a member-only premiere of the new documentary Georgia O’Keeffe: The Brightness Of Light, presented with the cooperation of the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum. Then, enjoy a discussion with filmmaker Paul Wagner in conversation with MoMA curator Samantha Friedman.
Voiced by Claire Danes as Georgia O’Keeffe and narrated by Hugh Dancy, this spellbinding film offers an in-depth, cinematic, and fresh portrait of the artist known as the “Mother of Modernism.” From her early struggles and artistic awakenings to her rise as a feminist icon and cultural force, The Brightness of Light is a journey through love, loss, and the radical independence that shaped O’Keeffe’s art and her legend.
The screening will begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by a discussion and Q&A. Please enter through the Ronald S. and Jo Carole Lauder Building entrance at 11 West 53 Street. Advance registration is required and capacity is limited.
