Join us to explore MoMA’s galleries and take photos while focusing on elements that often go unnoticed. What do you see that others may not? In this photography workshop, we’ll capture parts of the Museum that reveal New York City’s cultural, historical, and social layers. Inspired by Robert Frank’s Scrapbook Footage, currently on view at MoMA, we will document our own unique perspectives on the exhibition and art-making in the city and beyond.
This program is free and open to all high school–age participants. No previous art-making experience or registration is necessary.
Open Art Space meets every Thursday, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., at the Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, located at 4 West 54 Street, near Fifth Avenue.
Metrocards, snacks, and supplies will be provided.

Open Art Space is a free weekly after-school program dedicated to creating a safe space for LGBTQ+ high school students and their allies to create, explore, and connect with other creative teens.
Open Art Space meets on Thursdays from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at MoMA’s Lewis B. and Dorothy Cullman Education and Research Building, located at 4 West 54th Street, near Fifth Avenue. Programs do not meet on NYC Public Schools holidays or during school closures.
Monthly Films at Open Art Space
Each month enjoy free screenings of cult classics and contemporary films. After, stay for themed parties, art-making activities and discussions with filmmakers, artists, and industry professionals.
RSVP encouraged. Walk-ins welcome. This program is free and open to all high school–age participants. No previous art-making experience is necessary. Snacks, OMNY cards, and supplies will be provided.
