Join us to experiment with combining tech and analog textile and weaving processes in a workshop led by Craftwork.
Welcome to the Soft Speaker Workshop! In this hands-on session, we’ll dive into the exciting world of e-textiles, where the boundaries between technology and craft blur. Together, we’ll explore how conductive fabrics and threads can be used to design and build functional fabric speakers that emit sound. Gain insights into the fundamentals of e-textiles and discover how textiles can become interactive and dynamic materials. Participants will walk away with their own working soft speaker, and new skills and inspiration for the possibilities of textiles and technology.
Craftwork is a multidisciplinary design and art studio exploring the nature of textiles and technology through installations, storytelling, and material-based research.
This program is free and open to all high school–age participants. No previous art-making experience or registration is necessary.
