Originally slated for a 2023 release, Challengers was shelved during the SAG strike as actors were prohibited from doing any promotion. The film was a sensation when it finally hit theaters in spring 2024, far exceeding box office expectations and allaying fears about the delayed release. Tashi (Zendaya), a teenage tennis talent unlike any other, meets Art (Mike Faist) and Patrick (Josh O'Connor), fine players in their own right who don’t hold a candle to her ineffable promise. As the trio ages, life gets in the way, and hearts (and bones) are broken, changing the course of their professional trajectories and personal lives. The all-star combination of director Luca Guadagnino, screenwriter Justin Kurtizkes, and composers Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross delivers a thrilling big-screen experience.
