Sound On: John Adams is a collaboration between The Museum of Modern Art and the New York Philharmonic.
Through a special collaboration, The Museum of Modern Art and the New York Philharmonic present a concert programmed by John Adams, one of the most acclaimed and frequently performed composers of our time. His work has helped to define a post-minimalist canon in music. During this special evening, Adams will discuss his approach to music-making with friend and music scholar Ara Guzelimian. Musicians from the New York Philharmonic will play work by Adams, and by a new generation of composers whose work Adams has championed, including Anthony Cheung, Dylan Mattingly, Andrew Norman, and Gabriella Smith.
The recipient of a Pulitzer Prize and several Grammy awards, Adams is currently the creative chair of the LA Philharmonic.
Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:30 p.m. Please enter through the Ronald S. and Jo Carole Lauder Building entrance at 11 West 53 Street. Advance registration is required and capacity is limited.
